The Nativity: Part I

“No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us.”
John 1:18 NLT

Jesus Said: “Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father!”  John 14:9 NLT

Jesus “… is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature”      Hebrews 1:3 NASB

“…no one truly knows the Father except the Son, and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.”  Matthew 11:27 NLT

If Jesus came to reveal God to us then what do we learn about God from the first Christmas?

After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, "Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him…" Matthew 2:1-2 NIV

"…the wise men went their way. And the star they had seen in the east guided them to Bethlehem. It went ahead of them and stopped over the place where the child was."        Matthew 2:9 NLT

God provides a travel guide to spiritual seekers.

…John was there with two of his disciples.  When he saw Jesus passing by, he said, "Look, the Lamb of God!" When the two disciples heard him say this, they followed Jesus.…They said, "Rabbi" where are you staying?" ….So they went and saw where he was staying, and they spent that day with him.….Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, was one of the two who had followed Jesus. The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon …and he brought him to Jesus.
John 1:35-42 TNIV

"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.”   Matthew 7:7-8 NIV

"…shine like stars in the universe … hold out the Word of Life" Apostle Paul
(Philippians 2:12-16a)
